Subject: Portugese Translations From: "Laurence Marschall" Date: Thu, 11 Sep 2003 08:51:05 -0400 To: CC: "Dick Cooper" , "Glenn Snyder" , "Laurence Marschall" Alex, I'm very happy to hear that the Portugese translations are coming along so well! That is great. My suggestions for making them available would be twofold: 1) Make them available on your institute's web page, and include a link to CLEA. Then let us know what the web page is, and we will add a link to our "Translation" page that points to your institute. 2) Also send us copies of the material in Word format (could you send a CD and hardcopy?), and we will also post versions on our website. We'd, of course, like to have the copies for our files, but it should also be no problem to set up a page here at Gettysburg, as well. That way there would be at least two download sites for Portugese speakers. (Of course there aren't that many in North America, but we may be an alternate connection for European users.) I'm looking forward to seeing the translations when they are ready. Meanwhile I got involved in TIE project and have some coleagues also working with me on this. I actually did some translations (Pulsars and spectroscopy and am working on the asteroids manual) but decided it would be too much for me alone. Then we split the translations, my colleagues decided to help on the translations and they should be ready by the end of September (all of them). My question at this point is: how can we display it? Can we put it on my institute's web page (in portuguese) and point it to the mother site? I dont actually know the best way to proceed and would like your opinion and guidelines on that. Sincerely, Alex Wuensche
