One post-doctoral fellowship on Astrophysics at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE, Brazil)

The Astrophysics Division (DAS) of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in Brazil welcomes applications from foreign candidates for one post-doctoral position to develop projects in one of its research areas (www.inpe.br/pos_graduacao/cursos/ast/ingles/).

The grant is part of the Programme for Institutional Capacitation PCI/MCTI/INPE (http://www.inpe.br/tec/programa_pci/, Portuguese only). The PCI/DA grant value is R$ 5.200 per month (five thousand and two hundred Brazilian Reais). The maximum duration of this grant is 36 months.

The candidate's PhD degree must have been obtained 2 (two) years before the fellowship beginning or have a Master degree obtained 4 (fours) years before the fellowship beginning. In the last case, it is mandatory to inform the conclusion date of Master degree in the application letter.

There is no travel support neither adaptation support included. The grant is offered for an initial period of 12 months and it can be renewed for an equal period based on the science production.

The grant should start on 1st September 2016.

The application must include the following documents:

• an updated CV,
• a research project,
• three recommendation letters, and
• an application letter indicating: (i) the chosen grant (PNPD and/or PCI) and (ii) the researcher of DAS/INPE as a main collaborator. The researcher must be a permanent faculty member of the Astrophysics Post-Graduate Programme.

The applications deadline is 24th June 2016.

Conditions to apply for the PCI grant:
(i) the candidate should not have been fellow of the PCI/MCTI programme for a period larger than 24 months;
(ii) the candidate could not have a fixed position;
(iii) this fellowship should not be accumulate with any other Brazilian fellowship;
